Let's come together to explore the complexities of pain and suffering in our lives and how we can move from hardship to personal growth. We begin with an opening quote that invites reflection on the difference between pain, which is inevitable, and suffering, which is shaped by our response to pain. Through sharing personal stories and reflecting on past crises, we’ll explore how these moments of hardship have led to deeper meaning, self-discovery, and growth. The circle encourages safe space, confidentiality, and being present with each other as we reflect on how we cope with difficulties, what we’ve learned from those experiences, and how we can embrace community rather than suffering in silence. The session will culminate in a meditative practice designed to help us build resilience and compassion—key qualities that allow us to transform pain into strength, both for ourselves and for those around us. Join us as we connect, build compassion, and the ability to approach future challenges with greater awareness and empathy.
Led by Abigail (Abby) Berard, a Brave Community Member and Clinical Psychology Masters student at Pepperdine University with a strong passion for mental health advocacy and community building. She brings academic insight and personal commitment to creating safe, supportive spaces for individuals to connect and grow. Abby is especially dedicated to fostering inclusive environments where participants can listen, learn, or share—each at their own pace and comfort level..
