Faculty:

Denise Alba, LMFT

E-RYT200, RYT500

Denise Alba is a Licensed Psychotherapist and Founder/CEO of Brave Wellness Studio with a mission to provide access to holistic mental health.

Denise received her Bachelors in Human Development, Masters in Counseling Psychology, Integrative Medicine certification and RYT200/300 certifications. With over 10 years of experience in both Yoga and Mental Health, Denise is thrilled to offer a mental health emphasis to yoga teacher training at Brave.

Denise enjoys mentoring and connecting one on one with her students and clients, learning their stories and empowering them to live Bravely.

During her time away from the studio, Denise enjoys spending time with her husband and family traveling and relaxing with their rescue dog, Archie.

Yukari Allen,

E-RYT200, RYT500

Yukari was born and raised in Japan and moved to the United States after she married her husband who was a military personal.

Her yoga journey started over a decade ago. Once she started to practice daily, she was amazed that it made a big difference in her physical and mental health. A few years after starting a yoga practice, she decided to take a big step into her yoga career. She completed 200 hours of Yoga teacher training in 2013. Since then taught over 2000 classes in many different styles of yoga. She joined Brave Wellness Studio as a Yoga instructor in 2021. She then pursued and completed 300 hours of yoga teacher training in 2023. Now she enjoys working as Studio manager and instructor at Brave.

She holds E-RYT200, RYT500, and in Kundalini yoga 200hs. She is a Reiki Master Teacher since 2019 to share love and light with all.

Stacy Dockins,

E-RYT500

Yoga and mindfulness educator, Stacy Dockins, has dedicated over 25 years of her life to studying the human body and teaching yoga. Stacy received her Bachelor’s of Science and certifications in 500 Hour E-RYT, Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM-CES), Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP), and her Master's of Science with dual concentrations in Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Exercise Psychology at A. T. Still University.

Stacy developed her first book, Embodied Posture, which empowers readers to align yoga postures to best suit one’s bio-individuality. This innovative perspective combines body awareness, science, and exploration, lending practical tools and information that can be immediately applied to the mat. 

Stacy and her husband Dave are the founders of Yoga Project, a yoga studio in Denton, TX. A few of her other interests include traveling in their Sprinter van, cycling, knitting wooly things, and plants. When they aren’t out exploring backroads on their bikes, Stacy and Dave might be at home in Denton, TX cooking, reading, or practicing together. They enjoy spending time with their children Jake, Kera, and Luke, and their rescue dog, Bodhi.


 

Sample Weekend:

Each day begins with reflection and meditation, followed by course work, lectures and time to practice teach. Each weekend you will take 2 yoga classes with your fellow students lead by your faculty within your training. Plenty of breaks and time to connect will be weaved into training.

  • Fridays: 6pm-9pm

  • Saturdays: 8am-3pm

  • Sundays: 8am-1pm

*Please note that the weekend of September 2 (Labor Day), we will not be meeting.

FAQ:

What style of Yoga is this Training? You will learn a vinyasa style of teaching (breath to movement) with an emphasis on mental health.

Do I need a mental health background to take this training? No. You do not need to have any background.

What if I don’t want to teach in the future, can I still take this training? Yes! This training is a great opportunity to dive deeper into your yoga practice and mental health.

What if I can’t make one of the weekends? You are required to complete 200 hours to graduate the program. We know life happens and can work with you within allowed limits to help you complete the course. Please note that we will not be meeting in person the weekend of Labor Day.

I’m scared of teaching in front of others, how will that affect my training? We know this can be scary (we have all been there), and we will help build your confidence through lots of teaching opportunities with your fellow students.

Are payment plans available? Yes!

Do I receive a yoga alliance certification after this training? Yes. Once you graduate, register, and submit program completion confirmation with yoga alliance and stay up to date with dues. These fees are not part of your tuition with Brave Wellness Studio and are paid separate to Yoga Alliance.
