Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

$250 /Hour

Blending consciousness medicine with Western medicine,“Therapeutic ketamine” refers to ketamine that is primarily administered for psychiatric indication, psycho-spiritual exploration and/or psychological work. Your therapist assesses, prepares, sits with you in your journey and facilitates processing.

Ketamine acts at NMDA receptors in the brain to modulate levels of glutamate, which have been shown to be disregulated in patients with depression. NMDA signaling is also essential for learning and synaptic plasticity, which means that a brain undergoing ketamine treatment is a malleable brain which can be permanently changed for good.

The Treatment Process

Ketamine therapy combines intensive talk therapy complemented by music, mindful movement, and nature to facilitate greater insight and awareness. During ketamine therapy, ego defenses which may have once been protective are now able to relax and help you become “unstuck.”

Sessions begin with intention setting and basic grounding, which may occur in the days before or immediately before your ketamine therapy appointments. These sessions last 2 hours. Think of it as setting a course for the session, but with the understanding that the session need not follow a script. You’ll administer ketamine orally.

Ketamine therapy typically requires multiple sessions, also known as an induction series. However, we take an interventional approach and aim to achieve lasting and meaningful results in 4 to 12 weeks. Repeated sessions help contribute to ketamine’s effects on your neuroplasticity and mood while facilitating rapid change in your self-awareness, insight, and patterns as you engage in therapy.
